H3Press was formed in 2003 with the intention of becoming the best Halo site for fans both on a national and global level to get the latest Halo news and information. The founders of H3Press quickly realized that the need for a generic "Halo News Site" was very low, with excellent news sources such as HBO and of course Bungie themselves available. They then tried focusing the site on lesser covered topics such as "Halo On Your Desktop. While these articles were popular, they still just didn't quite fit H3Press.

H3Press became wildly popular in 2005 with the release of it's Halo Community Toolbar. In the first week alone, the toolbar received over 12,000 downloads, and still consistently sees several hundred downloads every month. The problem was, fans would download the toolbar and never come back. H3Press still hadn't found a successful niche.

Then came the concept that finally stuck- H3Press Videos. Begun initially as a simple FileFront account, it has grown into it's own fully-featured portal. Since it's launch, an automated upload/conversion system, a rating system, comment system, an embeddable player, and more recently, an improved comment and rating system along with user profiles/community features have been added to the service. Currently, H3Press has a massive archive of over half a thousand videos. H3Press streams this archive to thousands of users daily.
